Do you have high cholesterol?
In that case you already know that it’s generally not considered a good thing.
So do you need to worry about colestrol?
This is a vexed question and one that both sides of the medical community seem to argue about. On the one hand there are plenty of people who say that dietary cholesterol is not what causes the problems, but the cholesterol we manufacture in our own bodies.
On the other hand there are experts who suggest you treat any foods high in cholesterol with a fear and loathing normally reserved for sharks – in other words avoid at all costs.
Some experts have this to say:
We do not eat enough cholesterol for our bodies’ normal daily usage. So our bodies produce the shortfall. If we eat foods high in cholesterol then our bodies make less since the shorftall is less. When we reduce, or eliminate foods high in cholesterol, you know the usual suspects, egg, butter, dairy, then the body has to crank its own production up a notch. In other words the body self-regulates, which makes sense, but is it right?
It’s claimed that most of the time eating foods high in cholesterol does very little to our blood cholesterol levels. So a lower cholesterol diet may not help you all that much after all.
All of that is great, but what do you if you’re not sure which side to believe? After all, they can’t both be right, can they?
This is where you should consult your own doctor. High cholesterol levels, if left unchecked, can be very detrimental to your health, so it pays to find out as much as you can about opposing views. Ultimately you’re going to have to make your own choice, in conjunction with advice from your doctor, but at least if you’re well informed about the issues you can make your choice from a position of knowledge.

Pest and vermin control in the Liverpool Area has seen a lively and brisk start (2010) which is somewhat unexpected given the somewhat cold (weather of this last winter|winter of 2009/10}.
Merseyside Pest controllers were kept working with the routine city centre rats and mice calls throughout the winter of 2009/10, but the somewhat cold late winter has already brought some black ant problems reported.
The fairly wet summers of the last couple of years were not to the taste of the hymenoptera (sawflies, wasps, ants & bees) but 2010 looks like it will turn out to be a busy year for ant problems.
Frequently ants make their nests under the floors of houses and inside cavity walls causing a large number of foraging ants to invade kitchens and food cupboards.
However it is at mating time when they can be most troublesome as they produce winged males and winged queens which then mate on the wing.
The release of several thousands of these winged ants inside houses can be horrific indeed.
A fairly new pest was very numerous in the Liverpool and Wirral area last year, the Varied Carpet Beetle (Anthrenus verbasci).
It was unusual for pest controllers in Liverpool and Merseyside to meet these pests until recently but they seemed to arrive from nowhere in 2008 and already this March has seen sightings of these beetles in substantial numbers.
These beetles have a similar life cycle to moths their larvae, known as woolly bears eat natural fibres and can do great damage to carpets and any fabrics. They are a difficult and tricky pest to eradicate.
We involved in pest control Liverpool note that Bed Bugs are carrying on their return in the Manchester, Lancashire and Cheshire area, often arriving as hitch-hikers in the suitcases of returning travellers.
Regularly the first reaction of those unfortunates who realise that they have been infested with these hideous,blood-sucking pests is to get rid of the old beds and purchase.
This is an expensive error as despite their name bed bugs do not just live in beds and in an infested bedroom will be found everywhere within around five yards of the bed, in cupboards, drawers etc, even in electrical and telephone sockets and the new beds become quickly re-infested.
A lot of people mix up bed bugs with dust mites which are not visible to the naked eye. They both a different method of pest control
They dine solely on blood which they syphon from their sleeping hosts. People usually associate bed bugs with insanitary conditions but nothing could be less accurate, they do not require dirt, their food is you!
Until the end of May 2010 Harrier & Liverpool Pest Control are offering a 25% reduction on their guaranteed ant treatment.
This revolutionary new treatment which is guaranteed for three years, extendable indefinitely in further three year chunks by a simple re-treatment every three years, can be carried out on most houses subject to free site survey
For the summer of 2010 Liverpool Pest Control are providing a fixed price for getting rid of wasps nests in the Liverpool and Wirral area of just forty-four pounds 50p.

The Chevrolet Suburban full-size SUV is available in three well-equipped trim levels: base LS, well-equipped LT and luxurious LTZ. All are powered by V8s. Standard on the half-ton Suburban 1500 is a 5.3-liter unit making 310 horsepower and 340 pound-feet of torque, equipped like air suspension, with GM’s fuel-conserving cylinder-deactivation technology. Optional on the 1500 is a 6.0-liter V8 packing 366 horses and 376 lb-ft; the Suburban 2500 comes standard with a different variant that is tuned for even more torque and thus makes 352 hp and 382 lb-ft. All are matched to a smooth and cooperative six-speed automatic transmission. A choice of two- or four-wheel drive is yours either way, and towing capacities can approach 10,000 pounds.
For such a big truck, the Chevrolet Suburban is relatively quick when unloaded and can reach 60 mph in under 9 seconds. However, the base V8 Suburban doesn’t always feel so quick when carrying a load of power- and fuel-sapping stuff. The suspension system is impressive, though — coil-over shocks up front and a five-link setup out back, plus precise rack-and-pinion steering, suspension parts — that all make for more composed handling and a smooth ride. It’s still not exactly nimble around corners, but the cabin is quiet at speed and the ride is always comfortably controlled. When pointed straight down an interstate or out in the wide-open spaces, there aren’t many better, more capable cruisers than the Chevrolet Suburban. Overall, it’s a compelling and top-rated choice for shoppers with lots of people- or gear-hauling needs.
Previous to this, there was the Suburban from 1992-’99. After a long, enduring model run by the previous generation that extended from 1973-’91, the then-new ’92 Chevrolet Suburban finally adopted the sleek body design and freshened interiors of its previously updated pickup truck siblings. In addition to handsome new looks, the completely redesigned next-generation Suburban boasted more glass area and a lower step-in height than its predecessor.
After a few years of detail improvements, redesigned seats and a new modular dashboard graced the Suburban’s interior in 1995, and a year later daytime running lamps marked the adoption of several powerful new Vortec gasoline engines ranging up to 290 hp. For off-roaders, four-wheel-drive models substituted a modern independent front suspension and more convenient Insta-Trac electronic shift-on-the-fly transfer case. In 1998, four-wheel-drive operation was enhanced again with an optional AutoTrac automatic full-time 4WD system for set-it-and-forget-it convenience.
